Adjusting to the new schedule

So, I have been working for 3 weeks now and let me telling working a 9 hour day and then going to the gym and sweating your butt off on an hour of cardio really makes a girl tired. (a little side note: I often start my sentences with so, both in my writing as well as when I speak…my 2 and a half year old “nephew” now starts his sentences with so…hehe)

Back to the topic at hand, adjusting to this new crazy schedule. I am very proud to say that I adjusted very well getting up at 5:45 am. What I have not adjusted to is being tired at 7:30 at night, none of the good tv programs have even started and my eyelids already feel like they weigh 18 pounds. Add in the time change and it is pitch black by 7:30, which makes me want to go to bed even more. Factor in that I get home from the gym, shower, make dinner and it is 7 pm. That gives me 30 minutes to get something done before my body wants to hibernate. Grocery shopping and or laundry cannot be done in 30 minutes. That means I need to start being creative with my time. I am not quite sure how to do this but I am sure in time I will figure it out. I am toying with doing my grocery shopping on my lunch hour. I would really need to get the shopping down to a science. 5 minutes to get there, 35 minutes to shop and check out and 20 minutes to get home, unload it, and get back to work. Maybe that will save me money as I won’t have time to peruse the isles, I will have to stick strictly to my list. As for laundry, it would be so nice to have a washer and dryer in our apartment, but alas, no such luck. That will be a requirement the next place we move. No more having to cart the laundry out the front door!

Oh I hear ya with the pitch black night at 7:30! We needed milk and eggs yesterday, but on our way back home from the gym my husband and I could NOT make our way to the grocery store... we just SO wanted to go home, shower, get on PJs, eat, and then go to sleep! Hey, at least you're hitting the gym after work! That is tough too! :-)

I always hated going to the gym after a long day of work, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!
