oh turkey day, oh turkey day

To say that we ate a lot of food on Thanksgiving would be an understatement!

Kelly, who is like an Aunt to me, made an amazing spread. Every year we go to their house for Thanksgiving, and every year we leave stuffed!

My favorite dish that Kelly prepares is her "Salad". As you can see this is not at all a salad! Kelly has assured me that in the south this is considered a salad and therefore we need not worry! haha!! this year she even made it extra special, it was in a trifle (sp?) dish. had vanilla pudding and vanilla wafers on top! oh gosh, I want some right now just thinking about it.

My not so little bro, Kenny, L-O-V-E-S him some green bean casserole. This year my mom made sure we had plenty to go around! Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, that is how much she prepared. It took up the entire middle seat in the back of the car on the drive over! Soooooo good!

Burt, Kelly's husband made the rolls and made a few that were a little larger than usual!

We gave one of the oversized rolls to Kenny with his meal (he had to work so he came over after and had a massive plate of food). Kenny decided to combine the massive role with the super sized green bean casserole! genius idea!

I must also include this picture and tell you why Kelly looks so excited to be texting on her iphone. You see, she was dog sitting for this little tiny dog and brought it over for the day because no dog should be alone on thanksgiving. After we all ate about 5 pounds of food we headed to the couch or back yard to let it all settle...duh, we needed to make room for pie and cheesecake! While sitting outside we noticed the little dog eating something in the yard. Hmmm, could it be some leftover food the kids spilled? nope, it was in fact poop! The little dog was nibbling on some poo, lolololol. thus, Kelly immediately got out her handy dandy iphone and texted the dogs owner, aka her friend, to let her know what the dog was up to! Hilarious!

I think one of my favorite parts of the day was when Scott and I went on a walk after dinner. We were walking along the beach in Coronado, we stopped to look at the lights of the bridge etc at night and he put his arm around me and said he was thankful for me, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh, how cute is he?!

Here are a few pics of us at our first thanksgiving as a married couple!

This is blog 1 of 3 of our holiday weekend...stay tuned!

Ummm, that roll-greenbean-caserole combo looks sooo good! The dinner that we attended didn't have traditional greenbean caserole and I was sad :-( Looks like you had a fabulous weekend!
