welcome home John!

yesterday morning my sister greeted her fiance, John back home from a 7.5 month long deployment tour in Kuwait!

here are a few pics of the homecoming. I wish we could have been there.

Welcome home John, can't wait to see you in a few weeks!

this is happiness

adventures of mommyhood, not very hollywood

It has taken me a week to do the recap for last weekend! It was that crazy!

A few months ago our friend Letitia call me and ask if we would watch the boys the holiday weekend in January so her and hubby Luke could go to Vegas...this humble mama of 2 has never been to Vegas! how could I say no?? plus we love our godsons like they are our own...and for the 3 day weekend last weekend the boys were ours. I don't know how L and L do it!

We drove down to SD on Friday night and got to my parents house around 10 parents dog, Chief was not warming up to khloe, not even a little bit! we got about 3 hours of sleep and for a while thought Scott was going to have to drive back up to ventura with khloe...luckily my mom also go home for the east coast late on Friday night and between her and my sis they watched khloe during the day....which meant Scott went back to my parents house each night to sleep with khloe.

We arrived at hotel room aicher's (long story as to why we were at a hotel, but the short version is their lenders were lame and they ended up having to live in a hotel for a week between moving out of their apartment and moving in to their dream home) at about 6:50am on Saturday morning...Scott took L and L to the airport after a run down of where everything is etc. The morning was probably the most calm of all 3 mornings. After scott got back he took Em over to my parents to play with khloe and chief. I attempted to take a 5 month old out to run an errand and have lunch with bestie kate. Preston proved to be my favorite of the weekend (between Em, Preston and Scott). After exploding in his diaper moments before we were about to leave i did a quick change ad we were off! thank god he did it right before we left, the bathroom at Macy's would have probably had paint peeling on the wall! After a quick gnarly diaper change we headed to Macy's so auntie rella could get her eyebrows did! P fell asleep in the car on the way there, and in an effort to keep him that way i did not want to put him in the stroller so I lugged him around in the carrier...i say lug because he is 5 months old and is in the 95th percentile for his weight...he is a big boy! He slept the entire time i got my eyebrows waxed and on the way over to meet bestie kate at Oscar's...yummmmmmmmmm bread sticks! He was a doll the whole day...

Em really enjoyed playing with khloe and chief...that is all he could talk about...and he also played a little guitar...he is really trying to learn how to be a lady killer!

wearing auntie rella's uggs!

Since Em refused to take a nap getting him to bed was a bit of a struggle. he went to bed between 830-9pm which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past his bed time....Scott left before Em was asleep to go home and take care of khloe.

finally asleep!!

Sunday morning wasn't too bad...Preston got up every few hours but once he ate he was content to go right back to bed...the problem began when Scott texted me to tell me he had been in the bathroom for 30 minutes and was doing well....thus begins Scott being sick.....

the weekend got a bit more intense from that moment on, and i kinda felt like a single mama of 2...i have no idea how they do it, props to all the single mama's

At one point he had looked at me with a scowl on his face, so i said to him "boy, wipe that look off your face" what did her proceed to do...but wipe his cheek with his hand and then give me this look of "now what????!" I almost died! to freakin funny!

Another classic Em moment, on Saturday after lunch I took P and we went to my parents house for a bit...I went into the bathroom, to, you know, ahem, used the the bathroom...or as Scott and I have for the paper...I am reading a very good trashy mag and Em walks right in....walks up to me, tilts his head, puts his hand on my arm and says..."are you pooping?" hahahahaha, almost fell off the toilet!

Final classic Em moment was also on Saturday...after we put him to bed Scott was giving me a kiss before he left and Em starts chanting, "oooo, are you gunna kiss her, are you gunna kiss her??!" the kid is too funny!!!

Since uncle Scott was sick from Sunday morning on it was more of a survival game. We got Em to take a 2 hour nap on Sunday because we told him we couldn't go see chief and khloe if he didn't take a nap. best idea we had all weekend!

yes, the onesie says "my aunt rocks!"

khloe had a great time at my parents house...I think my mom enjoyed it as well. khloe ran into the sliding glass door a few times but loved sleeping on chiefs huge bed, chasing leaves and chasing chief down the hallway! She came home with a few extra toys too!

when we started our drive back to V town on Monday afternoon the moment we got on the freeway to head back home the torrential downpour began!

khloe passed out in her bed in the backseat on the drive home

the drive took less than 4 hours, which was great, but when we got home I felt like I had been working all weekend and was watching Monday night tv anticipating going back to work again in the morning...thank god I only had a 3 day work week!

L and L we love you lots, and the next time we watch the boys our only request will be to not be in a hotel room!!!

khloe spa day...

wooohooo, I finally uploaded my pictures from my camera!

Two weekends ago khloe went to the vet, went on her first walk, and had a spa day at Petco.

She was a good little puppy at the vet, she got her first shot and didn't even feel it. She was 8 weeks old and weighed 5 pounds 2.5 ounces. We have to go again in a few weeks and she will get her second set of shots as well as a little chip injected into her that will hold all her contact info if she ever gets lost. The vet said that needle is much bigger and she will feel it :(

After we went to the vet khloe was finally able to go on her first walk. It took her a few minutes to figure out what she was supposed to do, but she had lots of fun smelling and walking...she still can't be around dogs that aren't vaccinated so we walked her on base because all the dogs there have to have their shots...

After khloe getting her first shot she was finally able to go and get a nice little spa cleaning at Petco, and thank the lord because her nails were very long and mama was afraid to cut them herself. When we went back to pick her up they had put cute little pink bows on her ears!

stay tuned for the recap of last weekend when I was a really mommy for 3 days...

things i've learned along the way...

I wrote this yesterday but never had time to post it...

today is one of those days where you just feel like you are sinking. this post is not going to be for those looking for a nice pick me up and happiness hug...but hey it's my blog and i will whine if I want to! I only work this week today, tomorrow and Thursday so if you think I've gone over the deep end, don't worry, I am happy just knowing that i have another 3 day weekend in just a few short days!

Things I've learned: Wedding

  • Do not sign up for more than 2 wedding websites when you are planning your wedding, you WILL get inundated with emails from these people EVERYDAY, and you will not open at least 85% of them, thus they will clog up your crackberry and you gmail account.

  • Do not give yourself 15 months to plan a wedding (even though we got married last April, we are not having our ceremony and party (read very expensive day to celebrate) until this June). Regardless of why you think 15 months will be great, it isn't! If I could do it all over again I would have done the big hoopla last September, only 6 months of planning and I had always wanted to have a late summer, early fall wedding, my favorite time of year. Unless someone tells you they will pay for the entire shabang do not plan around anyone but you and the Mr.

  • When the Mr. says that it is your day and he will do what ever you need do not believe him.

  • Along with not waiting 15 months, try not to have your wedding in the same 5 month period as your sister and your bff, your weekends will be booked solid for those 5 months!

Things i've learned about myself:

  • Taking care of a 5 month old and 3 year old for the weekend and your hubby getting sick makes you really really understand what it is like to have kids. I have no idea how someone could have young kids and work full time. It is Tuesday morning and I am STILL exhausted from watching the boys Saturday-Monday! Luke, I have no idea how you do it and go to school!

  • starbucks is getting a little ridiculous with charging the 50cents extra for soy milk, especially when their latte prices have gone up...remember when a tall flavored latte used to be $3.10, now they are $3.50 and with soy they are $4! Believe me if I didn't need to order they soy, I wouldn't but I don't want to have the horrid stomach aches I used to get after consuming more than a few drops of milk. cheese and yogurt are fine, but milk, BAD NEWS!

  • when you eat fast food for 3 days straight and don't run for 5 you feel like you weigh about 700lbs and you feel like your thighs are the size of an aircraft carrier.

  • grocery shopping drives me nuts. I used to not mind it at all, I don't know what changed but I LOATHE having to go and stock up on food!

  • when my hair is a hot mess i feel like i might as well be wearing a burlap sack!

  • learn how to fill in your eyebrows, and spend the extra cash to get them waxed every so often...when you hair is a hot mess and you feel like you are wearing a burlap sack, if your eyebrows are groomed and spot on you feel a ton better...

khloe vs heidi

Training for my 13.1 mile run on April 25th, plus having a puppy, a husband and a house means that I don't have much time to blog about my precious Khloe!!! I hope to finally show you all the cute pictures of her first "spa day" when she got the puppy package at Petco sometime this weekend...

Here is a picture of Khloe going on a walk...

Even my DVR is feeling lonely and left is so backed up with recorded shows that at one point it was completely full and I had to go in and do a quick cleaning...

In other news:

The cover of these week's People magazine is even more shocking than last week's with Kate Gosselin on it....Heidi, after 10 plastic surgeries!!!!!

Seriously?!!? She looks like a middle aged woman trying to look like she is in her 20's, but oh ya, Heidi is in her 20's...

I don't know about you, but I think Khloe looks much better than Heidi does...

Stay tuned for lots of fun blogs and Scott and I venture into the world of parenthood for 3 days! This weekend we are watching our god sons while their parents go on a much needed vacation to VEGAS!!! lots of fun to come...

ok lovelies...I've done something big....

bff kara and I have decided we are signing up for a half marathon in April! April 25th to be exact! Just 10 days after my 27th birthday and 9 days after my 1 year anniversary...and about 6 weeks before my actual wedding and about 2.5 months before her wedding (perfect way to get back into a shape that isn't round!imnotsayin she is round, imasayinmeisround)

I am going to try and post my updates, struggles, successes on wednesday, for runners world wednesdays...

I actually ran on saturday, sunday, monday and tonight....I am going to have to find some trails that I can run on the weekends because the 13 mile trek from del mar to la jolla will not be flat land...that will be the killer part....

tuesday ten: my pet peeves

I am going to follow brit, from Dave and Brit Plus One and make a list of top ten pet peeves.
P.S. I love her blog, so cute and baby K is adorable...

In no particular order here are my pet peeves:

1. Hey you, guy with the big-a$$ monster lifted ford F75000, why must you take up two parking spaces and park in the front row right in front of the building??? And by guy, I actually mean GUYS, plural, as it is a military rite of passage to own a truck the size of Montana. That is great, if you want to spend half of your pay on gas then by all means knock yourself out. But PLEASE be courteous enough to not park in the front row and turn 8 parking spots into 4!

2. going into a public women's restroom, entering a stall only to see a pile of brown stuff and some toilet paper! Really tho!?!? girls, ladies, tweens, teens, gals...are we that disgusting that we cannot push the handle with our hand or foot and have that pile o'crap spin round and round and go down?!?!? Let's have a little class and flush the toilet after we use it!

3. The mother or father who is in a quiet setting, like, oh say, CHURCH and lets their baby SCREAM on the top of their lungs! When your baby or toddler starts screaming on the top of their lungs like you just gave them the n1h1 flu shot, it might be time to head to the nearest exit ASAP! There is a room with speakers connected to the bathroom and outside of the sanctuary for a take your screaming child in so the rest of the congregation can hear the sermon and you too can still hear the sermon. Don't get me wrong people, I love kids, I just think there is a certain time where you should have a little respect for others and when your little one is feeling anxious, tired, hungry, teething etc please just remove yourself from such situations as a quiet church sermon until said little one calms down...oh and p.s. when your toddler is singing jingle bells loud enough for every one in the sanctuary to hear, he reallying isn't behaving himself...

4. When the bagger at the grocery store puts a whopping 3 small items in each bag...therefore a shopping cart of about 25 items ends up requiring 9 plastic bags!

5. Guys wearing girls jeans! Hey boys, when your junk is noticeable through your jeans, it means they are too tight! Even when cowboys wear their tight jeans they look 1,000 times better than some punk rocker kid wearing a pair of girls skinny jeans...they are in the girls section for a reason, they should be on a girl! Plus, it is hard enough for a girl to find a pair of jeans that truly fit her, and now we have to worry that not only are girls shuffling through the jeans, but guys are as well, that is just mean! Oh and wearing pillow sized skater shoes with said skinny jeans looks even worse...

6. The girl at the gym wearing a regular bra and see through tank top...hey chica, you know why sports bras were invented???? to keep the girls locked up! Someone needs to get in their face and yell "Lock it up!"...that cannot be comfortable for you to have your girls bounces up and down like crazy while you use the elliptical or run on the treadmill! It is also not something other gym goers want to see! Head to your nearest Target or Wal-mart and buy a sports bra asap! your boobies will thank me

7. Getting a text message before 7 cell phone is also my alarm clock! Unless it is a life or death emergency, and if it is I would hope that you just call me..

wow, it is getting a bit hard to think of 3 more...

8. oooo, I know...when you are at a store and there is only one person as a cashier yet there are about 7 plus people in line and you see tons of other associates doing other things, like re organizing the merchandise...hello...ins't one of the rules in customer service, "the customer always comes first" and this rule comes after the rule "the customer is always right".

9. When you have a boss that is 50 plus years old and has to comment on how young you are, and therefore how much you don't know...(not my current situation but my last one did this so much it still bothers me!) I mean I know, I know, I don't have 20 plus years in the industry but the fact that you still operate like it is 1985 kind of shows that are you not on top of your game! oh and p.s. just because your suit was a classic piece in 1989 does not mean that is a classic piece now! That is only the case if it is Chanel, and you my friend, er enemy, are not Chanel material!

10. When your blackberry doesn't send all of your emails to your phone. I pay $30 extra a month to get ALL of my emails delivered to my loving crackberry...I cannot only pay a part of my $30 a month if you only send me some of my emails! Work out the kinks people!

that was kinda fun...I can't wait to see what next's weeks top ten list will be...

gettin backintothe runnin' routine

I have been doing a lot of blogging lately, but mostly just recapping all of the fun stuff we have been doing in the hatzung househould. It is time to get back into putting my thoughts, feelings and emotions back into my posts.

I have been feeling rather large lately, as in a heffalump, as in a fatty. 2009 was a hard year for me, my running mojo was absent, ALL YEAR LONG. I think it might have taken a trip overseas!I have been a pretty avid running since I started running cross country my sophomore year of high school.

I am determined to get back into it this year. I have not felt in shape in very long time, and since I will be wearing a white dress in 6 months I'd like to look goooood, as in, "daaaaaaaaamn, she looks goooooooooooooooood".

I have needed new running shoes for months, on dec 31st I finally purchased a new pair. The moment I put them on to run yesterday morning I could feel the difference in having padding and cushion back in my sole...

I have found a few bloggy girls that blog about their running and man alive are they inspiring! All these girls preparing and running in full and half marathons! If they can have full time jobs and a life and train for a marathon then I can run 3-5 miles 3-4 days a week! I am starting out relatively slowly because I don't want to crash and burn. I ran 2.25 miles yesterday and today, I feel a wee bit sore getting back into it all, but more so motivated to keep going. My goal is to log 300 miles in 2010!

I need to get a some warmer running gear...the shorts and tank tops wont work after work when it is dark and cold....

something like this might be in my future...

I can't wait for khloe to get her first set of shots so we can finally take her out on walks and hikes...that should aide in the quest to get my butt back into shape...and not like it's current shape resemblance...a big old ham!

I am hoping to recap on Sundays how many days I actually put my running shoes on and how many miles I logged in,em, maybe sharing withe my bloggy world will keep me accountable.

Goal this week: update my ipod with some lady gaga and black eyed peas to pump up the running mix...oooo, maybe I should also download "pump up the jam, pump it up!", ha

khloe's first bath

Scott and I had a very mellow and low key new year's eve. I made tons of appetizers for us to eat, so many in fact, we cooked the actual meal I had planned to make the next night!

yummy goodies...

Now on to the cute pics of lady khloe...

Today we gave khloe her first bath. She was surprisingly fine with it. She has been surprisingly fine with lots of things...peeing on the pee pad when we leave her home alone, letting us know when she needs to pee when we are home, adjusting to having a collar on....the only thing she isn't adjusting to is having to sleep in the kitchen at night instead of in our bedroom...meanie daddy scott!

here is a video of her attacking the stuffed tigger I gave her...
