I ran my first half marathon!

I did it, I ran my first half marathon! It is still kind of hard to find words to describe how it felt. Crossing the finish line was the most amazing feeling! I get to cross of my #1 thing on my 101 list!

I ran the half marathon with liz and kara…granted none of us ran together but, oh well, running really is a competition between you. Kate was only able to sign up for the 5k, but she was with us in spirit! We all got together the night before for a yummy pasta dinner, salad, garlic bread and strawberry shortcake. We also used this time to make signs for the men to hold…we are rockstars the men were too chicken to run 13.1 miles!

We got up early the next morning, and all met at kara’s at about 6am to drive to the del mar race track the start of the race. I think the pictures will tell the rest of the story…

P.S. I think I am going to run my second half marathon in November in Santa Barbara!!

27 years of life and 1 year of marriage!

Time sure does fly by…I cannot believe it is May. Just a few short weekends ago I celebrated my 27th birthday (April 15) and then the next day Scott and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary!

It was an amazing weekend! I took my birthday off and woke up to eggs, bacon and pancakes cooking at 5 am. What a sweet husband I have, even though he had to work he got up before the crack of dawn and made me breakfast. I also opened my present from khloe, a pair of navy shorts and a navy shirt…she did a great job picking it out J I enjoyed eating a yummy breakfast with Scott and then went back to bed for a nice little nap! I spent the rest of the day doing a bit of shopping and cleaning up the house. When Scott got home with flowers and card in hand we got ready to go to my all time favorite place, THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY. I absolutely love everything about this restaurant; I will just let the pictures show you how much I love it…

For our anniversary we got up early and took Khloe on her first hike. It was tons of fun and by the end of it she was so exhausted Scott had to carry her.

I made a yummy dinner of caprese salad, sangria, salmon stuffed with dill couscous and corn on the cobb. We then went out for a few drinks at the Mexican restaurant down the street. (It was a pretty low key anniversary since two weeks before we went to Vegas!)

Saturday was spent shopping, I know, I know, I just can’t get enough. My birthday present from Scott was to get some new spring clothes and sandals, woohoooo! We also went to target and did a wedding registry…

Sunday was laundry, house cleaning, and scott doing homework and car washing.

This post wasn’t as fun as I had hoped but I think the pictures more then make up for that…
