A life changing event: {hello OCS}

Yesterday changed our life.

For the past 2 years Scott has been working towards his degree to apply to Officer Candidate School {OCS}. It has been his dream to become a commissioned officer in the Navy.

This year the spring board, which he initially applied for, was cancelled due to the budget issues the US experienced in April. The fall board happened on September 20th.

Yesterday and 10:03AM Scott walked through the door {I know this because I looked at the clock to see if it was 11AM already, his normal lunch hour}.

I got up and walked over to him to ask him why he was home?

He said an early lunch.

My immediate thought was damn, must be a really rough day if you came home for lunch at 10am.

Before I could say anything he said, in what seemed like a whisper "I was selected".

I immediately began to cry tears of joy {you all should know by now that I cry over everything, even MTV}, hugged him and said over and over again how proud I was of him.

I seriously could not believe it. Scott has been working for this so hard and so long. He is the only person I know that says here is what I want, here is what I am going to do to get there, and then achieves his goal. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

I know he is my husband and I am biased but he is clearly a great candidate to become a Naval Officer. He is a great leader, motivator and teacher. He loves the Navy with his entire heart and wants to make it a better place.

I seriously cannot find the right words to express how proud I am of my wonderful husband!

This is going to be a huge life changer for us, in a very good way. Of course there will be a TON of responsibility after all the schooling and training, but honestly I think that is what Scott is looking forward to most. There is also that small, tiny {insert sarcasm here}deal of a pay increase. That in itself is life changing. I am not going to lie, I am very excited about this. Not for silly reasons like shopping, but because it will put us in a much better spot financially, to raise a family and for both of us to continue to pursue our dreams.

I spent most of yesterday crying tears of joy or laughing at random moments of the day.

I reused Scott's graduation banner to decorate. hehe

We went out with our dear friends Rik and Liz to celebrate. We of course had to go to the Cheesecake Factory.

{I need to frame this picture, to remember this day forever}

{hubby ordered a fancy drink to celebrate, some kinda yummy martini}

{me with said martini}

{my dinner: the chicken bellagio, so good!}

{celebratory red velvet cheesecake! we shared it and took one piece to go}

This day will go in the list of top 5 amazing moments of our life together.

I love you Scott.

I am so proud of you.

\ You are the most amazing and inspiring man I know.

Oh that's so exciting!!!! My hubby is in the coast guard and is awaiting for his news of whether or not he got promoted. Being an officer deff is rewarding and yet at the same time really difficult. With the officers in the CG, they only get 2 chances to get promoted, otherwise they get kicked out! So talk about pressure for us since this is his last chance, and most of his friends got passed over the two times. Times are rough these days but praise God for these blessings!!
And I'm jealous, I've never been to the cheesecake factory. Lol

Yay, congrats! Mr. H is JUST NOW getting his last interviews together and then he'll be sending in his OCS app at the end of this month. BTW, I tried to upload your button to my blog, but I'm not sure the code is working.
