fun and festive Christmas desserts & drinks

Thanks to Duncan Hines for sponsoring my writing. There's no limit to the baking possibilities, so grab your favorite Duncan Hines mix and Comstock or Wilderness fruit fillings and Bake On http://www.duncanhines.com/

One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is bake. Lots of baking inspires me to have lots of fun little parties during the holidays.

I like to keep things simple and fun with a hint of elegance.

Next weekend the Enlisted Spouses Club is having an ornament exchange party. I am super excited to create some desserts for the night of fun. I love the idea of having a Girl's Night In: gathering together in someones home is so much cozier then trying to get a big group of social gals together at a restaurant or bar. I am really looking forward to having some yummy desserts and enjoying time with my girlfriends.

Now time to share the yumminess I want to recreate!

I've been dying to make these chocolate covered pretzels. I absolutely love the juxtaposition of the salty and sweet. I am pretty sure these will become a staple christmas dessert.

This holiday season I have become obsessed with anything candy cane or peppermint flavored. These gorgeous little cookies would look perfect at our ornament exchange on a bright red cake plate. I better not bake anything until Thursday night or they'll be gone before the party! eek!

I love the idea of having a few signature drinks at a party or get together so you don't spend the whole night concocting various drinks.

For our Christmas ornament exchange party I am thinking fun and whimsical drinks.

Hot cocoa with lots of yummy marshmallows would be the perfect mocktail {non-alcoholic} beverage to keep you warm. {plus, dipping your chocolate covered pretzel in it sounds divine!}

Every party needs a flashy cocktail. These are perfect! You can make them just before the party {which means more time chatting with your gal pals!} the pops of red and green make them the perfect signature Christmas drink.

What fun desserts or drinks are you planning to make for your holiday soiree?

Remember to check out Duncan Hines' website www.duncanhines.com to find some great recipes for your holiday get-together! I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective
