Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day

I made a to do list last night of everything I need to do before I leave for Rhode Island in 11 days and wow was it long. Having 5 weeks to plan and actually move is quite the doozy when you start to process it all.

Such is the life as a military wife I guess. I think if I wasn't going to be in RI for a week I wouldn't feel so frazzled. But of course going to RI means seeing Scott graduate from OCS so I surely will not be complaining about going to RI a mere 3 weeks before we are set to do a cross country move.

Today is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. I truly believe that a sailor/soldier/marine/airman etc is only as good as the spouse supporting them. Some days I feel like I am Scott's assistant. Running to get dry cleaning, making random dishes for bake sales, understanding when he works hours later than everyone else to get things done. But when he tells me he knows he would not be half as good a Sailor if it wasn't for me it is all worth it. I am so proud of what my husband does.

I feel an extra special connection whenever I meet someone who is a military spouse. They understand your life just a little bit more. You can't really understand unless you live it.

In the military awards are given out some what regularly to reward a job well done and to keep those guys {and gals} motivated. Sometimes at home we loose sight of what it all means. I think it is great to have a day to tell all of the amazing milspouses thank you.

Thank you for the sacrafices you make. Your ability to change direction at the drop of a pin. Your undeniable love for your country to deal with the endless deployment schedules and nights where you roll over to nothing on the other side of the bed. I truly appreciate every single military spouse, past present and future. You are such a vital part of what keeps our service members going. Don't ever forget that.

Happy Military Spouse Day to you!! I can tell how dedicated you are to your husband and making it all work. I think you have to be so brave and strong to be a military spouse - and I can tell from getting to know you that you are so amazing and your hubby is one lucky man!!
