Weight Watchers {my weight loss journey}

As most of you know I started Weight Watchers in the beginning of the year. I had previously done WW for a few months in 2010 for our honeymoon. I liked it then, but I LOVE it now.

They updated their points system around 2011 {maybe a bit before} and all fruits and veggies are 0{zero} points. Which means I can eat all the fruits and veggies I want.

I did a bit of research before I did WW back in 2010, I liked Weight Watchers best because it really is all about portion control and moderation. I don't have to buy any special meals, I can really eat whatever I want, but in moderation of course. I also track everything on the WW app on my iphone, it makes it super simple and easy.

I started on January 2nd and weighed 152 pounds. I weighed myself on Tuesday morning {May 1st} and I weighed 131 pounds. I have lost 21 pounds! I seriously cannot believe it. I have not weighed that since high school! I haven't felt this good in years.

The pic on the left was taken in August of 2011, I may have only weight about 148 pounds there, but you can really see a different in my face. The picture on the right was taken last week while shopping for new clothes because about 80% of my closet does not fit me!

They recommend you do not focus on working out when you first start because you are trying to get your body used to the smaller caloric intake. I really don't focus on working out every day. {I do make sure to work out at least 3 times a week.} I know that I should do it more so I can tone up, the the weight loss is due solely to my diet. {And I don't mean being on a diet, I mean diet as in my food intake.}

The first time I did Weight Watchers I looked at it as a diet, this time I am looking at it as life style change. I will continue to eat this way for the rest of my life.

I can still go out to eat with friends and my husband but I order different things on the menu, and if I want to splurge I make sure to take that into account for my other meals of the day.

I never find myself starving on WW. If I have used all my daily points and don't want to use my extra weekly points I just munch on fruits and veggies. 

My portion control has improved so much since starting Weight Watchers. I also feel that when I do eat a splurge food I am full quicker and thus eat less of it. My body also feels like poo if I eat too much junk food.

I know a few people have been encouraged to join Weight Watchers after seeing my results. I am so happy to be able to show others a successful and healthy way to loose weight, feel good and eat better.

I will be writing more posts about recipes I like, keeping myself on track and maintaining this all while moving across the country. I feel too good to let myself get back to 152 pounds!

I was not paid by Weight Watchers to write this post, I just really believe in the program. It has changed how I feel about myself and has made me a healthier and happier person.

you look absolutely amazing! I'm currently making some lifestyle changes - not to lose weight, but to be healthier. And I think it's so important to look at it as just that - a lifestyle change! Because hopefully the good habits will stick with us! Good job!!
