we're east coast dwellers now {toto this ain't cali}

If we were to sit down for coffee today I might drink tea. Yesterday I had very strong and sugary coffee drink and it did me in. I was wired, then I felt horrible, then I was working about a mile a minute, and finally I was starving. {that was in about a 7 hour period}.

I'd start by telling you how crazy it is to think I now live on the east coast and how even crazier it is that today we are headed south to spend the next 2 months in Florida. WTH is what you might be thinking, you just moved to Virginia. I know, I know. Life is kinda crazy right now. Scott has to go to school down there for 2 months before he fully starts work at his new command.

This is my "it is almost 8pm, our hotel room is not packed, tomorrow morning we leave for road trip number 3 to Florida and instead of packing we are headed to dinner "face! I just can't say it enough. Life is cray cray right now. When I say "I live in Virgina now" out loud I don't believe myself.  I have to step outside to feel the 100 degree heat to remind myself "toto we aren't in Cali anymore"

Living out of a hotel that does not have a stove or oven means eating out more than usual. I am 95% sure the room we are staying at in Florida will have a full kitchen so we can get back into a  healthy and cheaper meal routine.

I have really been missing Khloe this week. I miss her wanting to cuddle, I miss her sleeping in our bed {yes, we are those people, but I won't apologize for it}. I just plain miss her. I also got a bit homesick on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. The 4th of July has always been a holiday that I celebrate with friends. Up until a few years ago I spent it with all my BFF's in San Diego. It was like our Christmas. We always went all out, had a great time together etc. The last two years in Ventura we spent it with our dear friends Rik and Liz. Not spending the 4th with either set of friends hit me hard. It was a 2 by 4 to the head reminding me that I live in Virginia now. {dude, I wonder when that won't sound weird to me.}

{a little arm party fun }

Have you heard of She Reads Truth? It is so amazing. It is a bunch of women all over the interwebs who are doing a bible study together. A virtual all over the world bible study! The study is moving me. It is working in my heart big time. It is giving me daily time with God and really opening up my eyes.

{taken on my phone, no filter one night on our walk}

{doesn't he look handsome??}

If you haven't yet run away from my incessant ramblings abut how cray cray life is right now I'd share with you that we found the area in Norfolk where we want to live. It is exactly what we have been dreaming of. Very hip and urban, cute shops, restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars and houses with character. {the pic above is from a coffee shop in the area that i found and love}It is pushing the higher end of our budget but is much closer to Scott's work so we'd be saving money on gas for sure. Now we just have to pray we can find a place that meets our needs in this location come September. Just thinking about how all of that will work out makes me stressed. But I have to remind myself not to "Borrow trouble from tomorrow" {from the bible study I'm doing}.

What has been going on in your life? If we were sitting down face to face I promise I wouldn't monopolize all the talking time. I'd shut my mouth for a bit and let you vent any of your frustrations or share things that have been weighing on our heart.

Hey! Found you via the link up. I LOVE those bracelets - where did you get the cross one?

I've moved a lot - never West Coast to East Coast but from Boston to South Carolina, Florida, Atlanta, and now New Jersey, and I totally understand the homesickness! It does get better!

Still rooting for you guys and praying as well! I have to admit those words were hard to swallow when we arrived here! Especially the first time i saw the fixer upper my hubby bought for us! When everything you could possibly imagine went wrong during the nine month remodel i would cry and say Virginia doesn't want us here! But I know now God did! Hang in there Gal, as Christians we are not promised an easy life, as a matter of fact our lives may be harder! You will grow in this time of uncomfortability (my word hehe!) and it will be worth it!~Rella

Yay for being on the east coast! I'll be praying God provides just the right place for y'all come September. I have to remind myself of the truth about not borrowing trouble from tomorrow too! What part of FL will you be in?

I'm so happy that you guys are finally in a real house. It must have been crazy living from suitcases that long. That Bible study sounds wonderful!

Found you via the GFC blog hop... I started the soul detox plan and loved it... Then let the busy ins and puts of life interfere with my time spent in the Word. You've inspired me to get back with it! Plus, we use the same pens for our journaling, which is pretty sweet :) (I seriously love those pens).

An east coast girl myself, I'm excited to follow your adventures in your new home!

I found you via the GFC Blog Hop. Newest follower.
I moved from my hometown 3 years ago. I only moved 2 1/2 hours away but it is still hard to be away from everything and everyone you are used to. Have a safe trip to FL...Depending on where in FL you will be, it may be pretty nice. :) I'm from FL - born and raised. :)

Have a wonderful weekend.

Visiting from coffee date link up. You have a cute blog. We are currently living in AL and only 1.5 hours from Destin, FL. We love going to FL (I'm from KS so having the Gulf so close is great!). Florida is humid, but we are used to the humidity.

Girl you're a rock start rolling with all the changes and moves that you've been making. You're hubby has married a very special lady for sure. It still trips me out to think that you're on east coast time now. Is that still weird for you? so excited that you guys found an awesome place to live, love how God brings it all together. xoxo

I've been doing the devotional with She Reads Truth too. It's been such a wonderful way to start my mornings and I've been challenged by the it as well. Hopefully, you'll be able to establish some sort of routine in Florida. :)
