watermelon fizz recipe {a yummy summery treat}

I don't know about you but I am loving making refreshing summery drinks.

We do not buy soda around here unless we are having a party.

Some nights I just don't feel like having wine or sangria {shocker, I know!!}

I was inspired the other night by a drink I had at Ruby Tuesday, a watermelon fizz.

I decided to recreate it at home.

I made it for a single serving and it was super simple:

I put a couple of chunks of watermelon and chopped mint leaves in the bottom of a mason jar and used a spoon to break it up and get a lot of the juices out. {if you have a fancy tool for this use it, I am living in a hotel so I am making due with what I have}

I then added ice {just a bit more than half of the mason jar}and pour in club soda {you could use a flavored sparkling water or whatever is your favorite.}

I then added a squeeze of lime and threw in the wedge. Add a mint leaf or two to garnish and viola!

** cute polka dot straw is from the birthday party section at Target, $1.99 for 20!
