what i wore: coral & mint {and my thoughts on blogging}

Sunday we had a brief change in the weather, the rain and clouds disappeared and let the sun shine for a bit.

I am beyond obsessed with coral and mint.

Any shade of coral with mint has me smitten.

I have a confession: I have really had a hard time wanting to blog lately.  The blogging world seems to be going towards giveaways and sponorships.  I have only been blogging since 2009 but I've been reading blogs for much longer. I fell in love with the blogging world because it was an amazing place to be inspired and learn about others.

I found my voice reading blogs and writing here at this little place. I would have never met my friend Steph had it not been for blogging and thus I would still be lost here in Norfolk and would not have the amazing job that I have.  Blogging has been such a theraputic outlet for me and has given me something to focus on when the military has had our life all over the place.

When I am feeling uninspired or need a reminder about following my dreams I turn to the blogging world. When my twitter and blog roll feed are bombarded with giveaways it kinda makes me sad.

I get doing sponsored posts for brands you love, trust or believe in, but I also think you can do that in an authentic way if you do them more than a few times a month. I do sponsored posts sometimes so I am not saying I am against them. I am saying I still want to hear your voice when I read the post. I come to a blog to read about the bloggers ideas, thoughts etc.  I rarely read posts that promote their sponsors, I am more likely to read a guest post by their sponsor.

I am trying to be more open to the change in blogging, but I have to admit I miss the way it used to be.

the hubs always seem to capture me laughing and looking crazy ;)

I completely agree. There are some blogs I've seen that seem to only be filled with product reviews, giveaways, and sponsor posts. That has absolutely nothing interesting to say about the blogger and gives their followers absolutely nothing to read.

Such a perfect color combo.

I agree with you somewhat, but the giveaways is what gets more people addicted to the blogs in the first place, not wanting to miss a thing.

However I think the giveaways should only be products made by the blogger or a product from the bloggers store...does that make sense :)

Your necklace is super cute.
I love all the colors you've combined here.

You look great :)

I agree with you. I haven't been blogging for very long but I already see a change in how things are just from blogging in the last year or so. I miss the old stuff but I'm still going to keep plugging away because the number one person I blog for is me. Don't forget that!
