Happy Friday! I am trying to post more often, but life seems to be going at a mile a second.  I read Moriah's currently post yesterday and was inspired to do one myself today.  It is more of my week and not today specifically, wink wink.

Currently my daily breakfast is this: coffee and oatmeal with bananas, a few dried pomegranates and walnuts with as sprinkle of brown sugar and cinnamon.  When it comes to breakfast I become a creature of habit during the week, if I eat it Monday chances are I will eat it every day.

Currently I have lunch at my desk most days. I have been spending about 45 minutes around lunch time doing turbo fire so lunch while checking email and facebook is the norm and I don't mind it at all.

I am currently obsessed with my Cinnamon Sticks ring! Canela is a real life friend I met at a Sew Funky Market I did last year, love her and her designs! Treat your self to one of her pretties, you won't regret it.

And finally, I am currently loving my newest shop additions, hoop art! They are made out of vintage sheets! I want to keep them all, but I think Scott doesn't want 20 of these in the living room!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! xo

what i wore: finally sharing my first stitch fix

My first Stitch Fix came back in January and then life happened and I never posted about it. {I photographed this back in January so that counts for something, right??}

These skinny black pants are what I kept and can I just say that I loooove them! I wear them at least once a week.

necklace: soleil selene // sparkle sweatshirt: forever21 // plaid flannel: thrifted // black ponte pants: stitch fix // boots: nine west: years ago via my parents for Christmas

What is Stitch Fix? Glad you asked! It is basically an online shopping genius for your closet. You fill out a survey about your style, what you like, what your want etc, pick a date to get your box and then they send you 5 things to try on. You also have a personal shopper creating your box so they tailor it exactly to what you ask for and how you answered they questions.  Keep any of the pieces or keep all and get 20% off the entire box.

If you need to add more fun to your wardrobe or are a mama with no time to shop for fun new stuff Stitch Fix is for you!

a peek at the weekend

Happy Monday!

I haven't done a weekend recap in a while. Life around here is pretty mellow on the weekends.  One of my facebook statues this weekend said Scott was in the basement doing wood work and I was watching Downton Abbey and doing needle point, talk about 29 going on 60!

Friday I wore one of current go to run errands/hang out outfits... floral and striped sweatshirt {totally looks cutier than your normal hoodie}, bright orange flats and a polka dot scarf. I want to put this outfit on

Saturday afternoon it was in the mid to high 60s! hallelujah!! We took khloe out for a nice long walk around the neighborhood and I fully enjoyed not having to wear my long workout pants and a jacket or vest!  Today it is freezing and raining so clearly spring is not yet ready to stay in VA.

Saturday morning we got to see this guy! Such a cutie. He will be staying with us on Friday night this week for a auntie and uncle sleepover.

Sunday morning after a walk through the neighborhood I made huevos rancheros. I have been craving them for weeks. I don't know why it took me so long to finally make them, they take no time at all and taste so freakin' good!

I spent Sunday afternoon with my Junior League provisional class making Easter baskets for some local military kids. We had a great time assembling the baskets and then delivering them.

We ended the weekend with Chinese takeout and a beer.  The takeout is obviously not the healthiest meal but sometimes you just need to indulge.  We also watched an Aziz Ansari comedy special on Netflix, love that guy, he is so dang funny!

rellas bellas turns 4! {plus a fun giveaway}

{up for grabs $10 starbucks gift card, rosette earrings and a mint color block heart necklace}

I cannot believe it was 4 years ago today I wrote my first blog post.  I started this blog right after Scott proposed. {4 years ago yesterday proposed, hehe} It started out to as a place to keep in touch with family and has blossomed to so much more.

This blog has been such a blessing to me. It has allowed me to share my thoughts, hopes and dreams. At first to no one but my mom and cousins and now to so many amazing readers and friends.

From this blog I also started a shop which I think was the first part of Gods plan to help me learn about social media, handmade and running a business.

I have gone to 5 conferences, at 2 of them I met people who ended up hiring me to work for them to do social media.

I have really been able to find my voice, my passion and become more confident in who I am because of this little blog. All of that would not be possible with out all of you amazing people who read my blog and send me the most amazing, inspiring and encouraging comments and emails. I am not the best at responding but every time I open up my email and see a blog comment or email I smile and am reminded to keep going. To keep sharing and keep trying to make a difference.

I have a fun giveaway to say thank you for following along and because really what is a birthday with presents! xo

30 days to 30 {sweatin the last 30 days of my 20's}

I can't believe I will be 30 in just about 30 days.

I am not having some crazy mental breakdown about it, it is more of a shock that time has gone by so fast, and yet I feel like I turned 25 ions ago!

Last spring I lost 20+ pounds, and have kept the weight off for the last year. I am so happy to be at a weight I feel comfortable at. I finally like what I see when I look in the mirror.

My goal for 2013 is to get my body toned and focus on things like a strong core.  I have been wanting to start Turbo Fire for the last few months and now seems like the perfect time, the last 30 days of my 20's.

My goal is to spend the last 30 days of my 20's sweatin' to look rockin' as I ring in my 30s.  I am making a promise to myself to do some type of physical activity every day for the next 30 days. I plan to make it to the gym to do cardio or do Turbo Fire every day, but some days I know work and life will get in the way. So on those days I want to make sure I at least get out and go for a nice walk with Khloe and Scott.

I am actually looking forward to turning 30.  I have heard from many women 30-33 was the best time. They were comfortable in their own skin, they were confident with who they were and they finally stopped caring about what everyone else thinks.

What to join me in my quest to kick it in to high gear over the next 30 days? Follow me on instagram to see my progress #sweatinto30.  {you don't have to be turning 30 to join in the fun, now is a great time to jump start your fitness routine and get healthy!}

the world needs your passion {what i wore}

Sometimes I get so caught up in the negative things in this world that I get overwhelmed.

Like blood boiling, can't concentrate consumed by it.

Then I have to remind myself I am trying to make a positive change. I am trying to make a small difference in the huge place.  Some days it seems daunting and I feel like no one will notice or care if I just just caring. But then my heart reminds me to keep going.

Back in December I bought a pin that says "the world needs your passion".  I wake up and remind myself of this every day.  It is was keeps me going and what helps motivate me when the negativity and nastiness of the world gets me down.

I am inspired by so many wonderful people, I hope I can be just a small part of why someone else is inspired to keep going, to keep pushing for their dreams and to keep trying to make a positive change.

p.s. my sister just started a blog Anchored Fit about her journey to loose weight after having a baby.  if you are looking for inspiration or motivation to get healthy and be happy in your skin you must follow along!

coco chanel inspired jacket {and the Influence Network meet-up}

last week I was inspired by this look from Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere. She is one of the first blogs I started following almost 5 years ago! I still head over to her blog when I need inspiration!

This outfit is the perfect mix of casual and business.  I wore it to a working lunch meeting and I was comfy yet totally put together.

Plus I was able to wear one of my favorite jackets {I call it my coco chanel inspired jacket}, score.  I bought this jacket over 5 years ago on super clearance at Express for $16, double score! It is a jacket I will have in my closet for many more years.

jacket: Express // t-shirt: Navy Exchange // necklace: Lisa Leonard // jeans: Paige denim via thrift store // shoes: Navy Exchange

I really love the these shoes, they have the sexiness of the pointy toe, but the heel is on the smaller side so they are perfect for every day wear. $20 for leather pointy toe black heels, I had to scoop these up years ago and I am glad I did.

I love finding outfit inspiration from other bloggers and then recreating it from pieces I already have in my closet. It's like shopping for free.

Linking up for the Influence Network meet up.

 {hehe that is me on the far right}

three things about myself:

1. I am a recovering shop-aholic. Ok, maybe that sounds a bit crazy but I have spent the last 9 months working on spending less money on mindless shopping. That includes clothes, shoes and accessories. Super hard for a fashion obsessed girl, but it is so worth it. After moving to Virginia I found some amazing thrift stores, much better than any we had in southern California. I try and find pieces at the thrift store that are similar to the current trends. It seems to be working so far. It gets hard sometimes because I see all my fashion forward friends posting on instagram and I want to head to the nearest target, anthro or nordstrom to shop til I drop, but I know I do not NEED anything else so I need not spend.

2. I love social media, like crazy love! I am the social media manager for a few companies and non-profits and I cannot explain how much I love it. Being on facebook, twitter and pinterest every day really is a pretty cool gig to have. It was a long road to get here and I know I have a lot more I need to do to get to where I want to be, but I can see how God did it all.  From quitting my job almost 2 years ago and not working for 18 months, to having an etsy shop and even this little old blog. All of it was a part of Gods plan to get me to this point today.

3. I am addicted to color. I love to mix crazy bold colors, patterns and prints. It is who I am. I used to be afraid of wearing something that wasn't just like everyone else's outfit. Now I love to be different and take a risk. It may sound silly but it is something that I know is part of me being comfortable in my own skin. I turn 30 in a little over a month and I wouldn't trade being almost 30 to go back to 21 ever! I was so lost and lacked confidence in myself when I was in my early 20's. I am looking forward to my 30's!

something i've learned from the network:

I love the influence network. I have to admit I haven't been as active on it as I would like because of work etc. But I love the way everyone is so support and encouraging of one another. I also love seeing how others are using their blog, shop, and voice to share the gospel. It reminds me not to loose focus of my purpose here on earth, the share my story and support and encourage others.

styling my {oh sweet joy} colette headband

Last Thursday the adorable Kim of Oh Sweet Joy sent out a tweet that the next 3 orders would get 25% off. I have been swooning over all of her headbands for months. I was ALL.OVER.IT.

I grabbed up the aqua dot colette headband, in lurve!

I ordered this pretty on Thursday and it arrived yesterday, talk about amazingly quick service!

After it arrived I took my hair out of a pony tail, tied on the colette and then used my flat iron to quickly curl my hair. I can't wait to style it a few other ways.

I have been craving spring for the last few weeks and am pretty much obsessed with anything pastel, this headband is perfect for my current obsession.

I grabbed up this ombre chambray shirt from Charlotte Russe for $10! I am looooving the cut out in the back. {I haven't shopped at Charlotte Russe in years!}

headband: Oh Sweet Joy // gold chevron necklace: Lisa Leonard // Chambray shirt & ombre pink necklace: Charlotte Russe // white tee: hand me down from sis // maxi: Target // flats: Nine West via Macys
I am not super in love with how this outfit looks on camera, but it is definitly a step above yoga pants and a hoodie. Made my Monday work day a bit better to be dressed.

Hello March!

{these pretties are in our front yard}

Hooray, it's March!

I don't think I've ever been so excited for March.

Living in southern california and hawaii most of my life I am used to warmer weather year around. The idea of enjoying warmer weather over the next few months has so so excited.

I also love the idea of fresh starts in the spring.

As flowers begin to bloom the look of the entire city changes. I think peoples attitude changes as well, wink wink.

I want to use the month of March to do some spring cleaning, start a garden and really embrace the fresh, bright colors that embody spring.

What do you plan to do in March?
